I was an easy kid growing up. Constantly buried among my books. As an 11-year-old, I my mother gave me her copy of Selma Lagerlöf’s Nils Holgersson’s wonderful journey through Sweden.
Nils Holgersson’s wonderful journey through Sweden was published 1906-1907 and the edition I received from my mother had the somewhat old-fashioned language. The language did not hinder me in the least. I was sucked into the story of Nils and Akka, the leader goose, and it is still my best reading experience.
It never struck me that literature was something you could live on, but eventually took me to the university where I studied languages: Swedish, English and French. It was during my time at Stockholm University that I wrote my first sonnet.
It took forever before I got my sonet back, but I never forget the feedback I got when I finally got it back.
Keep writing, you clearly have a gift for it.
I left my intended teaching career, took a bachelor’s degree in English and further trained in communication and marketing at IHM Business School and have since worked with words, writing and communication in some form.
As a writer, I explore the world and humanity from different perspectives. Poetry is unsurpassed as a genre for conveying emotions while short stories are just that right length. The novels give me a chance to follow the characters for a longer time and I don’t want to be without either poetry or prose.
In 2019, I am therefore working on a sonnet suite, a novel and a bunch of erotic short stories. You will find them whereever you will otherwise find ebooks and audiobooks.
